About the Founder

Portrait of Paul Byron HillPaul Byron Hill, CFP® founded Professional Financial in 1993 as one of the earliest independent “fee-only” financial advisory firms. His firm now serves over 80 affluent households in a dozen states who have entrusted the firm with assets approaching $150 million. Paul uses a consultative wealth management process, employing a comprehensive planning approach to understand his clients’ deepest needs, values and goals.

His planning advice goes far beyond simply investing, and Paul and his team work closely with a network of experts in finance, accounting, tax and law. Prior to Professional Financial, Paul was the principal of Hill Financial Advisors, an early financial planning firm, which he started in 1983. Prior to that, he held sales and management positions with traditional insurance companies.

Paul holds designations as an Accredited Tax Advisor (ATA) and Accredited Tax Preparer, as well as lesser professional designations, and other education outside the parameters of financial planning and wealth management. He was presented with the Albert Nelson Marquis Lifetime Achievement Award by Who’s Who, and has shared his breadth of knowledge at a local college teaching CFP® courses as an adjunct faculty member of the College for Financial Planning.
